To be successful, the Vision Zero Safety Actions Plans require partnerships and collaboration between governments, local organizations, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the community.
There are many ways you can contribute directly or indirectly to making Central Florida safer. Take a look at some of our opportunities and resources. Then, decide what you will do for a better future.
We have a collection of materials you can use on our Safety Resources page.
HELP IDENTIFY SAFETY ISSUES
Sometimes crash data doesn’t tell the whole story – and that’s where you can help make transportation safer! You can use our mapping tool to help identify problem areas. We’re especially interested in experiences you have on or near the High Injury Network. You can also identify other areas where you feel unsafe traveling.
REPORT A LOCATION OF CONCERNSAFETY SPEAKER SERIES
We’re learning more about safety all the time, and we want to share. The Vision Zero Safety Speaker Series, which began in late 2023, continues to offer Central Floridians opportunities to join an in-depth discussion on a safety topic with regional, state, and national transportation experts.
Watch our most recent Speakers Series program.
Webinars take place quarterly, and we’ll post news about upcoming speakers in this space and on our social channels.
In the meantime, you can check out our Vision Zero Central Florida playlist on YouTube, which includes all the virtual sessions, along with other safety videos. Find out more about what is on the playlist on our Safety Resources page.

STAY UP TO DATE ON SAFETY NEWS
Another way you can join us in the quest for zero deaths on Central Florida roads is to sign up for Vision Zero email updates using the form below. We will let you know when there are opportunities to learn more and make a difference in your community.
SHARE YOUR STORY
The most powerful safety messages are found in personal stories. Have you been affected by a traffic crash? We would like to hear your story and bring community around the pain.
MetroPlan Orlando has partnered with DrivingDownHeartache.org, a memorial site that honors the people whose lives have been forever changed by traffic crashes. Established by national road safety advocate Melissa Wandall, the site offers a place where you can learn how some survivors are coping and hear more about how we can all work together to end these tragedies.
SUBMIT A STORYMORE SAFETY RESOURCES YOU CAN USE
We have a variety of resources to help you share information about safety. From activity books for children to short videos, to guides for elected officials. And we are always working on new products to help deliver the safety message to everyone.
Check out our Safety Resources Page here.
Resources of a more technical nature can be found in other parts of our Safety section.
- The Plans and Resources page contains summaries and fact sheets.
- The Data Monitoring page has interactive maps and online tools.
