Mobility Week: The Blind Experience

Community leaders and supporters are invited to participate in this important opportunity to promote drivers’ awareness of the White Cane law and pedestrian safety. Show your support as you experience the built environment from the perspective of a visually impaired person. This is an RSVP only event.

DETAILS

• 10-10:30 a.m. – Welcome and safety training at the Orlando City Hall Rotunda
• 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Experential opportunity to navigate the built environment while blindfolded and guided. Mobility specialists and volunteers will provide safety instructions and lead the experience.

This event is hosted as part of Mobility Week to promote safe multimodal transportation. Event partners include: Florida Department of Transportation, MetroPlan Orlando, City of Orlando, Lighthouse Central Florida, National Federation of the Blind, LYNX, Florida Council of the Blind, Division of Blind Services, Orange County Public Schools, and Bike/Walk Central Florida.
