Posted on: November 19, 2021 in Complete Streets, MetroPlan Orlando Board, Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), Public Involvement

A proposed amendment to the region’s 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, which would advance a Complete Streets project in the Griffin Park neighborhood, is open for public comments. The MetroPlan Orlando Board will take up the proposal at its December 8 meeting.

The proposed revisions also will be presented to MetroPlan Orlando’s advisory committees in the month of December. A summary of the proposed revisions can be found here. They include advancing the Hicks Avenue Extension (formerly Terry Avenue) Complete Streets project in the Griffin Park Historic District. The project includes bicycle and pedestrian improvements, roundabouts, and drainage work.

If you would like to comment on the proposed revisions, you can send an email to MTP@metroplanorlando.gov by December 6, 2021, or you can make a live comment at the MetroPlan Orlando Board meeting on December 8, 2021 at 9 a.m. Public comment at the board meeting can be made in person or virtually. The board meeting calendar item will be updated with details.

Changes to the long range plan are occasionally needed. An amendment is a revision to the plan that involves a major change, such as a change in project cost, project/project phase initiation dates, or a major change in design concept or design scope. In this case, additional revenue is available to advance this change.

A previous amendment to the 2045 Plan was approved by the MetroPlan Orlando Board at its November 10 meeting.
