MetroPlan Orlando Board Elects New Chairperson

At its March 11 meeting, the MetroPlan Orlando Board voted to elect Orange County Cmsr. Nicole Wilson as the new chair.

Florida election laws required the current Chair, Orange County Cmsr. Christine Moore, to resign from her county seat to run for Mayor of the City of Apopka, prompting the election. Cmsr. Wilson serve for the remainder of 2026.

MetroPlan Orlando congratulates Cmsr. Wilson and looks forward to her leadership as the organization continues to coordinate long range regional transportation planning for Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.

Cmsr. Wilson, who represents Orange County District 1 on the Board of County Commissioners, will assume her role at the next MetroPlan Orlando Board meeting,  May 13, 2026. Learn more about the MetroPlan Orlando Board here.
