Nominate an organization you think contributes to better air quality for the 2015 Clean Air Award.
Each year in May, a business or organization receives the Clean Air Award to coincide with Clean Air Month. Judging is based on innovation and uniqueness, direct or indirect effort to reduce emissions, providing a model for others to follow, and sustainability.
The Central Florida Clean Air Team, a coalition of government, business, transportation and health organizations, is requesting submissions for the 2015 Clean Air Award. Judges will screen all applications, consult with air quality experts — if needed — and announce the award.
MetroPlan Orlando is focused on air quality, because it is directly affected by our transportation choices. In Central Florida, the emissions released from cars, trucks and boats account for more than 60% of our air pollution. The Clean Air Team is interested in ways to improve transportation options and encourage people to develop and practice clean air habits.
The 2014 Clean Air Award was presented to Orange County Public Schools for its commitment to energy savings across the district.
Entries must be submitted by Friday, April 3. See the complete entry form and guidelines here.
