Help Improve Active Transportation in Central Florida

MetroPlan Orlando is dedicated to making Central Florida a safer and more enjoyable place to engage in active transportation, and we’re doing it with your help.

Active transportation is human-powered travel, such as walking, biking, or rolling. MetroPlan Orlando is advancing this type of healthy activity through the Active Transportation Plan: Ride & Stride 2050.

Please take a look at our map of proposed projects and leave comments. You can spotlight particular areas and tell us what you think about the work so far.

About the Active Transportation Plan

We began work on this plan last year and asked you to help identify areas that need improvement. We used your feedback, along with that of our Steering Committee, staff, and consultants, to come up with projects around the region to improve walking and cycling for everyone by 2050. The Active Transportation Plan will identify infrastructure, policies, and processes that encourage physical activity throughout Central Florida.

This plan, which will feed into our 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, seeks to make it safer for people to walk and bike in their communities and to access transit. The plan will identify feasible projects for construction that could be included in the 2050 Plan. It also will provide non-automobile travel options for residents and visitors to reduce the region’s reliance on cars.
