Come Work With Us!

Posted on: September 29, 2025 in Jobs & Internships

Are you passionate about transportation safety and ready to make a real impact in your community? MetroPlan Orlando is now accepting applications for a paid, part-time internship focused on bicycle and pedestrian safety data.

As the Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Data Intern, you’ll join a dynamic team working to improve transportation safety across Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. This is a great opportunity to build your skills in data analysis, planning, and public service, all while helping make Central Florida’s streets safer for everyone.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a current college student or recent graduate with a background in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Geography, Data Science, or a related field. A passion for transportation safety and a commitment to public service are essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Excel or GIS is a plus, but not required. Importantly, applicants must be able to work physically on-site in our downtown Orlando office, engaging directly with staff and ongoing projects.

What You’ll Gain

This internship offers hands-on experience in transportation planning and data analysis within the public sector. You’ll gain valuable exposure to real-world planning processes, safety strategies, and policy development efforts that directly impact the region.

Interns will have opportunities to work alongside experienced planners, engineers, and public officials, building both skills and professional connections. Through your contributions, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of how data and policy shape the transportation system—and take an important step toward a career in planning, engineering, or public administration.
