Taking Steps to Put Pedestrians and Safety First

MetroPlan Orlando plans transportation in the Central Florida region, encompassing three counties, Orange, Osceola and Seminole. This includes projects that focuses on pedestrian safety for walkers and bicyclists who also share the road with drivers to get to their destination.
The Pedestrian Safety Projects video is a 6-minute exploration into three projects that involve planning for pedestrians and keeps safety at the core of it all. The Orange Blossom Trail Safety Project in Orange County, Fortune/LakeShore Multi-Use Trail Project in Osceola County and North Oxford Road Complete Street Project in Seminole County were highlighted. Osceola County Program Manager Conroy Jacobs, FDOT District 5 Safety Administrator Loreen Bobo and City of Casselberry Director Kelly Brock shared insight into each project.
