2026 Vision Zero Annual Report Executive Summary

See the Strides Made Toward Vision Zero

To stay on track with our Vision Zero goals, we are committed to monitoring safety data on an ongoing basis and updating the information each year.

We’ve just published the Vision Zero Annual Report Executive Summary to show the progress the region has made toward eliminating fatal and serious injury crashes since the adoption of the Central Florida Vision Zero Safety Action Plan in September 2024.

In the Executive Summary, you will find where crashes are happening, the results and accomplishments of safety projects, and the next steps we’re taking to achieve our goal of eliminating traffic deaths by 2050.

To dive deeper, explore the interactive Story Map to see the data, trends, and maps driving the region’s Vision Zero efforts.

On our Monitoring and Progress page, you will also find a variety of safety-focused interactive tools to help monitor and visualize safety data like the Crash Data Dashboard, the Safety Trends Report, the High Injury Network Map, and the Statewide Traffic Safety Dashboard.

Recognizing that crashes are preventable, we lead a coordinated planning effort to eliminate them in Central Florida by 2050.

What is Vision Zero Central Florida?

Vision Zero Central Florida is a coordinated effort led by MetroPlan Orlando, partnering with local jurisdictions, to provide comprehensive Vision Zero Safety Action Plans for our three-county region, as well as for each city. These plans lay out efforts to change road designs, educate and engage people, and work with law enforcement to save lives.

Vision Zero Central Florida’s work was funded by a $3.79 million Safe Streets and Roads for All federal grant awarded to MetroPlan Orlando in 2023.  In 2026 we received a $2.12 million Safe Streets and Roads for All federal grant to continue our Vision Zero Central Florida work. This second grant will be used to update the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, as needed, continue safety-focused community outreach, update safety data, make improvements to the data hub site, and conduct safety road audits.
